 Meet the Homeschool Choirs

Arioso

Director: Stephanie Rauh

Arioso is our high school audition choir for ages 14 and up; this choir is under the direction of Stephanie Rauh.  The choir performs a wide variety of music, with a focus on "classic" choral music (folk, classical, sacred, hymns, international, Broadway, spirituals.)  Arioso regularly participates in the annual Southeastern Minnesota A cappella Festival.  They were a featured choir at the 2014 Minnnesota ACDA (American Choral Directors Association),  Choral Arts Finale Festival Concert at Orchestra Hall, the 2012 Minnesota ACDA state conference, and the 2009 Christmas concert of the Rochester Choral Arts Ensemble.  Arioso does an annual tour of local retirement communities and has toured outside of Minnesota to perform and serve in Chicago (2013  & 2018), St. Louis (2014), and Philadelphia (2016)

Cantabile

Director: Alissa Kludtke

Cantabile is our transition choir for students (boys and girls) ages 12 and up, this choir is under the direction of Alissa Kludtke.  If your child is 11 and the director decides he/she might be ready enough to try singing with this group, she may allow it on a trial basis.  This choir will include a wide variety of music that is more challenging than Con Brio, but not as difficult as Arioso.  We will strive to cultivate an encouraging environment that focuses on learning about singing and music by doing just that - singing and making music.  Though most of the singers will have higher (treble) voices, if a boy's voice starts to change, he will be allowed to sing lower as needed.  He may also sing for Stephanie at this point of change and transition into Arioso as soon as it works out.
